Ecobuild Launch for Elta Residential Ventilation https://eltauk.com/blog/ecobuild-launch-for-elta-residential-ventilation/ https://eltauk.com/blog/ecobuild-launch-for-elta-residential-ventilation/#respond Fri, 24 Jan 2014 00:00:00 +0000 https://eltaecodev.wpengine.com/blog/ecobuild-launch-for-elta-fans-residential-ventilation/ Ecobuild 2014 will be the platform from which Elta launches its brand new residential product range: a range of fans, and whole house systems specifically developed to meet the ventilation needs of the residential buildings of today and tomorrow.

Elta has more than 40 years experience in fan design and engineering, providing innovative solutions to improve indoor air quality and provide a healthy and comfortable environment for building occupants. The company is now taking that extensive knowledge forward into the residential market with a range which not only offers excellent performance but which also recognises the importance of aesthetics in meeting the requirements of modern interior design. The range features options designed for the specific ventilation needs of bathrooms, toilets, shower rooms, kitchens and utility rooms, as well as MVHR, MEV and dMEV units for whole house systems. Drawing on the innovations introduced in the Elta Select range to meet the energy efficiency requirements of new European legislation, Elta has adopted some of those innovations in the Residential Ventilation range.

This includes the highly efficient winglet style impeller in the axial fans which provides optimum ventilation performance while minimising noise, often an important factor in the home environment where noisy extract fans can prove particularly irritating. Indoor air quality and beyond The recent changes in Building Regulations and introduction of documents such as the ‘Domestic Ventilation Compliance Guide’ has increased attention on the importance of adequate ventilation in contributing to the health and wellbeing of building occupants by preventing damp, mould and the adverse effects associated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Fans have a vital role to play in this regard.

But they can also make a significant contribution in the drive to achieve ever more energy efficient homes. The aim of achieving zero carbon new homes by 2016 is an ambitious target, with Part L of the Building Regulations and initiatives such as the Zero Carbon Homes and the Code for Sustainable Homes being the means to achieve this. Elta has recognised this in its new Residential Ventilation range, offering a number of products designed to optimise energy usage through heat recovery systems, as well as the potential for demand controlled ventilation which further improves energy efficiency.

Full system design package As part of the commitment to and investment in the Residential Ventilation range, Derek Guy has been appointed as Group Home Ventilation Consultant. Derek has wide ranging experience and knowledge of the residential fan market and will be at Ecobuild, along with colleagues from Elta, to introduce the range. Derek comments – “Having the right products is obviously important but that is only half the story. We are very conscious that specifiers and consultants should be able to benefit from Elta’s expertise in ventilation so we are offering full system design for buildings, including 3D drawings and site plans to enable ease of installation. This is based on a 3-5 day turnaround to meet the tight timeframes which typify modern day construction methods.”

Jenna Chambers, Strategic Marketing Manager of the Elta Group, said “Elta is a name synonymous with quality engineering and service within commercial ventilation applications. With the introduction of the new product range we are looking to grow to a similar position within the residential market place. It will obviously take some time to achieve this but through the common strengths and core competencies that we have always adopted at Elta – recognising the importance of service and delivery as well as product innovation – we are very confident that we can bring a new dimension to the market.”

Products within the Residential Ventilation range are subject to Elta’s own in-house testing, as well as third party certification testing. To support confidence in the product design and quality, all products carry a three year warranty (subject to terms and conditions) to compliment the UK NHBC warranty scheme and the snagging lists of many quality house builders. To view the new product range and obtain a copy of Elta’s Residential Ventilation brochure visit Elta’s stand at Ecobuild (4-6th March 2014, Excel London) where the team will be on hand to discuss visitor requirements. Ecobuild Proves Perfect Timing for New Fan Efficiency Focus https://eltauk.com/blog/ecobuild-proves-perfect-timing-for-new-fan-efficiency-focus/ https://eltauk.com/blog/ecobuild-proves-perfect-timing-for-new-fan-efficiency-focus/#respond Thu, 07 Feb 2013 00:00:00 +0000 https://eltaecodev.wpengine.com/blog/ecobuild-proves-perfect-timing-for-new-fan-efficiency-focus/ Exhibiting on Stand N3430 at Ecobuild 20131, Elta will be focusing on a number of developments, including the new ErP (Energy related Products) Directive, introduced on 1 January 2013 – a piece of legislation that is having a profound effect on the building services sector.

A number of fans will be on show from the Elta Select range, supported by a brand new catalogue which identifies the products from Elta that are compliant with the legislation. By providing a visual reference point for visitors to understand what constitutes compliant and non-compliant products, the stand graphics will illustrate the reasons why fans meet the new energy efficiency requirements and, importantly, why many products are unaffected whilst legislation remains in draft form.

Amongst the fans on the stand will be a Raptor SPA EC and SDA EC, a Compact SCP and ZOO Fan EC model highlighting Elta’s development programme of designing and manufacturing units to meet the Fan Motor Efficiency (FMEG) and Specific Fan Power (SFP) values stipulated under the ErP Directive. Also on display to visitors will be a Komfovent Domekt heat recovery unit and the brand new Viper SCC EC.

Alan Macklin is Group Technical Manager at Elta Group and recognises the particularly opportune timing of Ecobuild this year –”Sustainability and an environmentally aware approach to building is what Ecobuild is all about so it couldn’t have come at a better time so hard on the heels of the new legislation being implemented. We have spent considerable time and effort, and will continue to do so, in producing information which is helpful to the market in understanding the implications of this very specific focus on the energy efficiency of fans. But one of the prime benefits of an exhibition is the opportunity it presents for face to face interaction, a chance for people to pose their questions to us and for us to explain what they now need to know in specifying fans for HVAC applications.”

Elta to Introduce Three New Product Brochures at Ecobuild 2011 https://eltauk.com/blog/elta-to-introduce-three-new-product-brochures-at-ecobuild-2011/ https://eltauk.com/blog/elta-to-introduce-three-new-product-brochures-at-ecobuild-2011/#respond Thu, 27 Jan 2011 00:00:00 +0000 https://eltaecodev.wpengine.com/blog/elta-fans-to-introduce-three-new-product-brochures-at-ecobuild-2011/ Elta will be exhibiting its wide range of ventilation products at Ecobuild 2011 on stand N1765. The focus of their stand this year will be to introduce the brand new energy-reducing Eltadrive Inverters and QUBe centrifugal fan units.

Eltadrive Inverters are one aspect in the control of ventilation fans. They offer cost savings through the reduction of energy usage at reduced fan speeds and the ability to control the fan via sensors such as humidity, temperature and pressure.

QUBe double skinned centrifugal fan units are highly efficient and resistant systems, with models capable of handling the most arduous and elevated temperatures. Each QUBe unit is user and installer friendly with low noise generation.

The new high pressure PowerPlus range brochure will also be available. The range has been specifically developed to tackle higher pressure requirements with a straightforward, efficient and definitive approach. The totally enclosed air over motors, along with their low profile robust Ushaped mounting brackets, allow for maximum open area, reducing velocities through the fan casing and resulting in increased efficiency and a reduction in noise and vibration levels.

Elta is fully committed to the reduction of carbon footprints in new and existing buildings, by using higher efficiency and lower energy products, components and control systems. Recent and developing legislation highlights the need for faster and high quality product and system development in the important area of energy conservation. Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) is an effective way of applying this philosophy as it allows variable ventilation solutions to be efficiently applied to variable occupancy spaces in buildings.

Reductions in noise ratings, cable sizes and the total amount of energy usage are very important factors, both for customers and for Elta’s product development programmes. Elta’s goal is to provide high quality, energy efficient products with a cost effective ventilation solution.

Elta has one of the most comprehensive and flexible ranges of general purpose fans available, from 100mm to 2m diameter. Within the field of air movement, Elta products have developed around building services applications, air coolers and refrigeration to offshore and marine, industrial processing, power generation, traction and other specialist markets.

Elta is the leader in fans for smoke extract, with a comprehensive range certified to EN12101- 3, car park ventilation, using jet impulse and induction technology, and for use in hazardous areas, under the ATEX standard.

Elta’s product ranges are available worldwide, either through appointed distributors, directly or via companies manufacturing under licence, several of which are also part of the Elta Group.

For more information, come and visit us on stand N1765 at Ecobuild on 1-3rd March, London ExCel.

Elta Launches New QuietFlow DCV Range at H&V ’09 https://eltauk.com/blog/elta-launches-new-quietflow-dcv-range-at-hv-09/ https://eltauk.com/blog/elta-launches-new-quietflow-dcv-range-at-hv-09/#respond Sat, 21 Feb 2009 00:00:00 +0000 https://eltaecodev.wpengine.com/blog/elta-fans-launches-new-quietflow-dcv-range-at-hv-09/ At The Heating & Ventilating Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham (24-26 Feb, 2009) – the most comprehensive exhibition of hvac equipment ever staged in the UK – Elta are launching their new and innovative Quietflow DCV (Demand Control Ventilation) system.

In the face of sharply increasing fuel costs, the rapidly rising costs of owning and operating H&V equipment and services, added to the new environmental imperative “to be seen to be green”, one of the recurring themes at H&V09 will be low energy, low carbon solutions. Quietflow DCV allows the efficient and effective implementation of variable ventilation solutions to variable occupancy spaces within a single building in order to save energy – and money.

The Elta Group has been fully committed to helping reduce the carbon-footprint of buildings for many years through more efficient components, products and control systems using less energy. But today’s soaring energy costs, along with recent and anticipated future legislation, are hastening the industry’s drive for faster product and system development in the important area of energy conservation.

In the Quietflow DCV system, Elta has combined energy-efficient fan and impeller units with the ability to use Elta’s DCV control methodology. This combination and the use of electronic functionality to integrate complementary modes of operation and efficiency, make the units quieter, more energy-efficient and maximises control efficiency to enhance potential savings in energy costs – moving ventilation ‘through a paradigm shift’ into a whole new era of technology.

The latter cleverly uses different forms of sensor to provide a vast array of different detection modules to detect the level of spatial contaminant (e.g: people, temperature, CO2, humidity) within the building. The sensors provide an almost infinite amount of variation to the ventilation system so that it matches the level of occupancy within the space. The intelligent system will also interface easily with other enabling systems (infra-red PRI, building automation systems) so that the end-user can be alerted to changes in performance levels, energy levels, maintenance requirements etc.

Efficiency of the fans has been greatly improved. Some models are fitted with a backward-curved impeller to provide around 87% efficiency. Also, a self-extinguishing, acoustic lining provides an enhanced and greatly improved noise-rating when compared to similar models. For cleaning and maintenance, access is much simpler via easy-to-remove top panels and the control systems also incorporates SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage facility) for the greater protection of users and installers alike.

Generally all Quietflow DCV units have been designed and developed to minimise their height, so that they can fit easily into ceiling spaces and voids. Multiple choice of fan allows for a wide range of airflows to ensure a good choice for the customer. They are ideally suited to either new-build or refurbishment projects where space is at a premium and energy conservation is a priority.

Quietflow DCV units have been fully tested in compliance with ISO 5801:1997 (airside performance) and BS848 Part2: 1985 (sound performance) in order to provide accurate and reliable test data. All Quietflow DCV products (indeed, all Elta products) are designed and manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO9001: 2000 to strict design and manufacturing standards.

The Quietflow DCV is the first product in the range of in-line box fan units, with the twin fan unit following later in 2009.

The new, full colour Quietflow DCV brochure will be available from Elta at the H&V show or alternatively by calling +44 (0) 1384 275800 or email bs@eltafans.co.uk.
